Injured? Documented early. Treated properly.
Slips, falls and sports injuries follow the same rule as collisions: what gets recorded early is what can be treated well. We document what happened, treat what we find, and keep your file clear enough to stand on its own.
What counts as a personal injury
A fall on ice in a parking lot. A slip on a wet floor at a store. A collision in a pickup hockey game. A dog on a leash that pulled you off your feet. Anything where you got hurt and someone else’s property or actions were involved. The medical side of these injuries is the same as any other sprain, strain or joint injury. The paperwork side is not.
Documentation from the first visit
If a claim follows, what matters is what was recorded early. We take a detailed history of the event: where, when, what you hit, how you landed, what you felt in the first hour and the first day. The exam records measurable findings: degrees of motion, which orthopedic tests were positive and which were negative, and any neurological changes. Each visit note tracks these against the last one.
If an attorney is involved, we send records and itemized bills to their office once you sign a release. We do not need to be told a claim is coming to keep clean notes. Every file is kept that way.
Treatment
Falls tend to injure the tailbone, sacroiliac joints, wrists and shoulders as well as the spine, so the exam is not limited to the back. Treatment starts at the force level the tissue can tolerate and progresses from there. You leave each visit with two or three things to do at home, written down.
Sports injuries
Most of the sports injuries we see are not one dramatic event. They are a hip that stopped rotating six weeks ago and a knee that started hurting because of it. The exam covers the whole chain rather than the sore spot alone, and the plan usually includes changes to how you train while the injury heals.
Cost
A new patient exam with initial adjustment is $150. Follow-ups are $50. Payment is collected after each visit, and itemized bills are available for any claim.
